Shaving Scuttle                  Shaving Mug Shaving Bowl

Hi, thanks to everyone who has supported my pottery studio over the past 5 years. I am making new shaving bowls and scuttles at the moment to re-stock the website.

In addition, I am introducing a new Satin Black and a Grey is on the way.

PS I've just re-listed a number of Clearance items at reduced prices.

I make a comprehensive set of wet shaving shaving mugs and scuttles in a variety of styles and colours.

In addition I make a wonderful range of tea & coffee mugs   Follow this link Mug

Each shaving scuttle or mug is individually handmade by me and takes 2-3 weeks, each constituent part of the piece is made on the potters wheel and assembled into the finished article the next day.  After biscuting the scuttle or mug to 1000C, it is glazed and refired to 1250C.  The finished mug or scuttle is removed from the kiln a couple of days later when the kiln has cooled.

The lather bowl in both the shaving scuttle and mug / bowl incorporates a deep spiral in the base and up the walls, giving good purchase on the badger shaving brush when creating a soapy lather.    The shaving scuttle can be reheated in the microwave if required.

Using a typical badger shave / shaving brush, with a shave / shaving cream /soap / lotion one can create a soapy lather, ready for the wet shave with a cutthroat razor or safety razor.

I ship anywhere in the World, though not every country has a price calculator, in which case please contact me.

Each piece is made on the potter’s wheel in my ceramic pottery workshop in the UK, so whilst each item starts with the same weight of clay they do differ slightly in height and width which adds to the individuality of the piece.
